Playbypoint Live — Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Playbypoint ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and discloses
information when you use the Playbypoint Live Android TV application (the "App"). The App is a
facility-staff utility distributed through the Google Play Store under the package
com.playbypoint.admintv. It displays the current court schedule, lessons,
socials, and announcements of a specific facility on a TV mounted at that facility.
The App is intended for use by authorized staff of facilities that subscribe to the Playbypoint platform. It is not a consumer product and is not designed for use by the general public.
1. Information We Collect
The App collects the minimum data required to authenticate a TV display to a facility and to render that facility's live activity:
| Data | Why we need it | Where it is stored |
|---|---|---|
| Staff email and password | To authenticate the device against the facility's Playbypoint account at first launch. | Submitted over HTTPS to our servers; never stored on the device. |
| Session token | To keep the TV signed in after first authentication so it can refresh content without re-prompting for credentials. | Encrypted local storage on the TV device only. |
| Facility ID and selected screen ID | To know which facility's schedule and which screen layout to render. | Local storage on the TV device. Sent with every read request to our API over HTTPS. |
2. Information We Do Not Collect
The App is deliberately scoped to court display. It does not:
- Use any analytics SDK (Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, etc.)
- Display advertising or use any advertising identifier (no AAID/IDFA collection)
- Track location (no GPS, Wi-Fi scanning, or IP geolocation)
- Access the device's contacts, calendar, microphone, or camera
- Collect device performance, crash, or diagnostic telemetry beyond what the Android OS provides automatically to Google Play
- Sell or share personal data with third parties
3. How We Use the Information
The information we collect is used solely to:
- Authenticate the TV device against the correct facility account
- Fetch the live court schedule, lessons, socials, announcements, and posters for that facility
- Render the data on the TV screen as configured by the facility's staff in the Playbypoint web admin
We do not use the data for marketing, profiling, or any decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on any individual.
4. Display of Other People's Information on the TV
Because the App renders a facility's live calendar, the TV will display information about bookings and lessons that belong to that facility's members and guests, including names of players assigned to a public reservation, lesson, or social. This is the same information that is already visible to anyone physically present at the facility's front desk or kiosk.
Privacy redaction is enforced by our server: when a reservation is marked private,
the API returns it as "Reserved (private)" with no roster, no subtitle, and
no capacity, and the App renders it as-is. The App never attempts to enrich a private
reservation with participant information from another endpoint.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information only with:
- Our infrastructure providers (Amazon Web Services) — to host the API the App talks to. They process data on our behalf under standard data-processing agreements.
- Law enforcement or regulators — only when required by valid legal process.
6. Data Retention
Session tokens stored on the TV device persist until the device is signed out, uninstalled, or has its app data cleared from the Android TV system settings. Server-side, account data is retained for as long as the facility's Playbypoint account is active, and deleted on request as described below.
7. Your Rights — Access, Correction, and Deletion
If you are a facility staff user whose email is used to sign a TV into the App, you can:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Sign the device out at any time from the App's settings, which immediately invalidates the session token on the device and server-side
To exercise these rights, email support@playbypoint.com from the email address associated with the account. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
All communication between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or higher). Session tokens are stored on-device using Android's recommended encrypted storage primitives. Server-side, access to personal data is restricted to authorized engineering and support staff under a need-to-know policy.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is an administrative tool intended for facility staff aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@playbypoint.com and we will delete it.
10. International Users
The App is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where our servers are located.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be summarized at the bottom of this page so returning visitors can see what changed.
12. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy or about the App's data practices can be sent to support@playbypoint.com.
